SC2 is a charger for lithium-ion cells with micro-USB power input. It has QC3.0 charging capability , and the charger can charge one or two rechargeable lithium-ion cells of sizes: 18650/ 18700/ 20700/ 21700/ 22650 including protected 20700/ 21700 batteries, with a voltage rating of 3.6V/ 3.7V. Thanks to the charging algorithm, the charger is an intelligent and safe device.

The TC/CC/CV charging algorithm used in the charger is a charging process for Li-ION cells to ensure good cell condition. It involves charging with the right current and also completing the charge at the right time. TC/CC/CV charging stages, we can divide into:

• TC stage: the initial phase of checking and reactivating a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2.9V
• CC stage: then the cell is charged with a constant current of 50mA to 500mA (depending on the connected power source).
• CV stage: then the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V, charging is complete and the battery is fully charged.

Included with the XTAR SC2 charger, you get a micro USB cable. For the set, you will need a power adapter, such as from a phone, or a computer with a free USB port. The output current of the USB charger, should be 3A at 5V. Suitable power adapter available in the "Related Articles" tab and here.

An interesting and safe solution in the SC2 charger is a separate power supply. This prevents unnecessary heating of the charged cell. When the kit is running, the power supply itself heats up and not the charged cell. As a result, the temperature during charging, can rise no more than 15 degrees on the cell. This directly affects the life of the battery.

On the other hand, the reactivation of "0V", discharged cells involves inserting the cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.
