XTAR MC2 Plus Charger for 10440/21700 USB Li-ION IMR/ INR/ ICR 2 channels
The latest innovative charger, the MC2 Plus is an intelligent device for charging various Li-ION cells, protected and unprotected. It has an indicator for each charging channel, showing progress and charging current. In addition, it automatically recognizes the state of the battery, and displays the current information on a small LED display. It can charge, both 1 cell and 2 in Li-ION technology at the same time. It does not support protected battery sizes 20700 and 21700. MC2 Plus is a portable charger, useful for any travel.
What makes the MC2 Plus charger stand out ?
The TC/CC/CV charging algorithm used in the charger is a charging process for Li-ION cells to ensure good cell condition. It involves charging with the right current and also completing the charge at the right time. TC/CC/CV charging stages, we can divide into:
- TC stage: the initial phase of checking and reactivating a cell whose voltage has dropped below 2.9V
- CC stage: then the cell is charged with a constant current of 50mA to 500mA (depending on the connected power source).
- CV stage: then the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until the cell voltage reaches 4.2V. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V, charging is complete and the battery is fully charged
Included with the XTAR MC2 Plus charger, you get a micro USB cable. For the set, you will need a power adapter, such as for your phone, or a computer with a free USB port. The optimal power of the charger should be 2100mA.
An interesting and safe solution in the MC2 Plus charger is a separately connected power supply. This prevents unnecessary heating of the charged cell. When the set is working, the power supply itself heats up and not the charged cell. As a result, the temperature during charging, can increase on the cell no more than 15ºC. This directly affects the life of the battery.
In the MC2 Plus charger, we can also recharge the batteries, up to full. First, we put the battery into the charger and wait until its voltage drops below 4.1V. This will occur during the self-discharge process. Batteries with a voltage of 4.1V or higher are treated as charged by the charger. Charging will start when the voltage drops below 4.1V.
Reactivating discharged cells involves inserting the cell into the charger and checking the voltage. With this function, we can check each cell in the appropriate size. When a discharged cell is detected, the charger will attempt to reactivate it. Note that exceeding the minimum voltage on the cell will limit the possibility of reactivating and saving such a battery.
