AA, AAA, 18650 Li-Ion and Ni-MH rechargeable batteries

Powerful AA, AAA, 18650 Li-Ion and Ni-MH and other rechargeable batteries are rechargeable cells, providing an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to alkaline batteries. In our store you will find a wide selection of AAA and AAA rechargeable batteries, distinguished by reliable operation, long life and varied capacity.

Types of rechargeable batteries: AA (R6), AAA (R03), 18650 and others

Ni-MH, LiFePo4, Ni-Cd and Li-Ion rechargeable batteries are available in our store in a variety of sizes. The following types of pencil batteries are offered, among others.

AA (R6) rechargeable batteries, usually referred to as "pencil batteries" or "big pencils", which are used in most small consumer electronics.

AAA (R03) rechargeable batteries referred to as "small pencil batteries," used as often as AA batteries, used to power electronic devices.

C (R14) and D (R20) rechargeable batteries, used in devices with higher power consumption, are usually characterized by higher capacity.

18650 and 26650 rechargeable cells, often used to build larger battery packs.

Less popular, such as Panasonic's SC Ni-Cd rechargeable cells, JJJ's 4/5A NiCd rechargeable cells, or GP 1/3AA rechargeable cells used in industry and remote control systems.

In the BTO offer you will find products from brands such as Panasonic Eneloop, Energizer, Varta, GP Recyko and Duracell. You have the opportunity to choose cells of various capacities (expressed in mAh - milliampere-hours), including 800mAh, 2600mAh or 1700mAh, reaching a lifetime of up to 1000 charging cycles.

Comparison of Li-Ion, Ni-MH, Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries.

As we mentioned earlier, you will find Li-Ion, Ni-MH and Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries in the assortment of the BTO online store. Below we have outlined the most important features of each type of rechargeable battery.

Li-Ion rechargeable batteries - lithium-ion cells are characterized primarily by a nominal single-cell voltage of 3.6 V and an energy density in the range of 110-160 Wh/kg. The memory effect is virtually non-existent.

Ni-MH rechargeable batteries - nickel-metal hydride batteries are characterized by a nominal voltage per single cell of about 1.2 V and an energy density in the range of 60 to 120 Wh/kg. The memory effect does occur, but it is much smaller than with Ni-Cd cells.

Ni-Cd batteries - like Ni-MH cells, rechargeable nickel-cadmium cells offer a cell voltage of 1.2 V. Energy density is in the range of 45-80 Wh/kg, and the memory effect is more noticeable.

It is worth noting that NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) and Lion (lithium-ion) rechargeable batteries in AA and AAA sizes are currently the most popular.

Why choose rechargeable batteries over traditional batteries?

There are a number of benefits in favor of investing in rechargeable batteries and a rechargeable battery charger. Why choose AAA and AA rechargeable batteries instead of regular pencil batteries?

AA and AAA rechargeable batteries can be charged and discharged many times (even 1000-1500 times!), which reduces the cost of buying new cells.

Rechargeable lithium-ion cells are much lighter than traditional batteries, which affects weight, especially for portable devices.

Using rechargeable batteries instead of batteries significantly reduces the amount of waste produced.

Of course, it's worth bearing in mind that sometimes a rechargeable battery can run down when we don't have access to a backup power source, nor can we plug in a charger to recharge the rechargeable batteries. In such a situation, it's a good idea to have spare alkaline batteries or a capacious powerbank.
